Dram

Nose: Vanilla, malted grains, bananas, peaches, cream, hints of strawberries. 
Mouthfeel: Light body, loosens, cool, mouth coating. 
Tasting:  Sour sweet. Malted grains, coffee, white chocolate, peaches, golden syrup, vanilla, hints of strawberries. 
Finish: Short. Cream, peaches, golden syrup, vanilla. 

Comments: 

Quite light and refreshing, but also quite rich with those wine sweet notes lots of stone fruit, honey and golden syrup. A proper peaches and cream whisky.

Verdict:

I like this.

Dram

Nose: Malted grains, leather, peaches, mushrooms, autumn leaves, yoghurt, sea salt, roast chicken. 
Mouthfeel: Medium body, loosens, tingly, cool. 
Tasting:  Salty bitter. Malted grains, hoppy beer, peaches, dried apricots, autumn leaves, white pepper, roast chicken. 
Finish: Long. Grapefruit, dried apricots, leather, autumn leaves. 

Comments: 

Cask 2602. Bitter and hoppy, but underlying that is a meaty, fruity sweetness. It fades very gradually, going through a long, intense finish, which turns from fruity to earthy.

Verdict:

I like this.

Dram

Nose: Yoghurt, mushrooms, strawberry jam, honey, cloves, overripe peaches, hints of roast chicken. 
Mouthfeel: Light body, loosens, cool, tingly. 
Tasting:  Sweet sour. Mushrooms, lemon sweets, strawberry jam, overripe peaches, black tea, cocoa nibs, hints of malted grains. 
Finish: Medium. Lemon sweets, vitamin C tablets, malted grains, cocoa nibs. 

Comments: 

Cask 3761. Lots of earthy mushrooms with citrus goodness, somehow refreshing yet substantial. It’s unusual certainly, and I’m starting to get an idea of the distillery style. Definitely not scotch.

Verdict:

I like this.

Dram

Nose: Musk, photocopy paper, roast pork, orange juice, farmyard, plums, hints of rosemary. 
Mouthfeel: Light body, slippery, cool, tingly. 
Tasting:  Bitter sour. Farmyard, lemon sweets, raisins, plums, musk, hints of rosemary. 
Finish: Medium. Plums, raisins, orange juice, rosemary. 

Comments: 

Surprisingly, not very sweet, instead it’s got those jammy, raisiny notes, but not the sugar. There’s also a herbal backbone to this, fragrant and redolent with rosemary and earth.

Verdict:

I like this.

Dram

Nose: Leather, malted grains, tobacco leaf, red grapes, raisins, rosemary, hints of overripe peaches. 
Mouthfeel: Medium body, loosens, cool, tingly. 
Tasting:  Bitter sweet. Mint, rosemary, red grapes, tobacco leaf, leather, musk, hints of new plastic. 
Finish: Medium. Coffee, tobacco leaf, leather, photocopy paper, hints of new plastic. 

Comments: 

Cask 3738. Quite herbal now, less sweet than its cognac cask matured sister. Lots of leathery tobacco notes and a bitter finish. Very interesting stuff.

Verdict:

I like this.

Nose: Cotton candy, honey, marmalade, strawberry jam, white pepper, hints of roses. 
Mouthfeel: Medium body, cool, loosens, astringent. 
Tasting:  Sweet. Cotton candy, malted grains, photocopy paper, white pepper, honey, marmalade. 
Finish: Short. Photocopy paper, malted grains, cotton candy, jasmine, hints of roses. 

Comments: 

Cask 3838. Rather sweet, almost sugary, in its intensity. It’s always an extremely interesting experience to try a single malt from a new country. I can already see points of difference that intrigue me. Quite promising. 

Verdict:

I like this.
