Nose: Raisins, leather, dates, cola nuts, strawberry jam, cocoa nibs.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, loosens, expands, airy.
Tasting: Bitter sweet. Dates, leather, malted grains, fresh cut grass, hints of toast.
Finish: Medium. Dates, raisins, cocoa nibs, cola nuts.
Comments:
Sweet, lots of dates and sticky toffee pudding notes, but there’s also a grassy, herbal edge. Interesting whisky, but it shows a lot of the cask, as you’d expect from a sample for blending.

Stripped back, malty whisky, lots of apple and savoury notes. Extremely promising as a cask sample, tastes like a young Auchentoshan. I’d happily drink this on its own.
