Mouthfeel: Medium body, cool, tingly, slippery. 
Tasting:  Sweet. Malted grains, ginger beer, honeycomb, apple juice, cream, toffee, hints of maple syrup. 
Finish: Short. Honeycomb, malted grains, barley sugar, apple juice, hints of cinder toffee. 

Comments: 

Travel exclusive. It’s sweet and gingery, more apple than any other fruit. There’s a slight hint of smoke, and plenty of barley sugar. Straightforward and almost quaffable.

Verdict:

I like this.

Nose: Green apples, orange juice, vanilla, fresh baked bread, shortbread, butterscotch, hints of toffee. With water, cinder toffee, orange juice, vanilla, hints of toffee. 
Mouthfeel: Light body, loosens, airy, mouth coating. 
Tasting:  Sweet. Shortbread, fresh baked bread, malted grains, toffee, butterscotch, maple syrup, hints of coffee. With water, toffee, maple syrup, shortbread, butterscotch. 

Finish: Long. Malted grains, orange juice, butterscotch, fresh baked bread, hints of coffee. 

Comments: 

Cask 306085. Malty and sweet, with biscuity shortbread notes. There’s a little complexity here, but not too much. Probably needs a bit more aging. Decent dram, nevertheless.

Verdict:

I like this.

Nose: Caramel, yoghurt, orange peel, raisins, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, carrot cake. With water, sandalwood, orange peel, ginger. 
Mouthfeel: Medium body, airy, loosens, expands. 
Tasting:  Bitter sour. Vanilla, caramel, orange peel, yoghurt, malted grains. With water, orange peel, malted grains, orange peel, fresh baked bread. 
Finish: Short. Malted grains, ginger, orange peel, yoghurt. 

Comments: 

Quite spicy and caramelly, with plenty of vanilla and cereal. It’s got some good complexity, especially on the nose, and it fades quickly to a nice, gingery, cereally finish.

Verdict:

I like this a lot.

Mouthfeel: Light body, loosens, airy, slightly warm. 
Tasting:  Sour. Malted grains, lemon zest, rhubarb, green apples, hints of honey, hints of fresh baked bread. With water, honey, malted grains, green apples, fresh baked bread. 
Finish: Short. Lemon zest, vanilla, honey, rhubarb, hints of malted grains. 

Comments: 

Quite a tart whisky, this. It’s got a herbal rhubarb-y edge, alongside green apples and citrusy lemon. There’s some slight sweetness reminiscent of honey, but it’s quite gentle. Quite good stuff.

Verdict:

I like this.

Tasting:  Sweet sour. Malted grains, honey, barley sugar, lemon zest, quinces, fresh baked bread, hints of walnuts. With water, coffee, lemon zest, oats, fresh baked bread.
Finish: Medium. Lemon zest, fresh baked bread, sage, quinces, walnuts. 

Comments: 

Cask 46. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a Glendullan, and I’ve never had a whisky from this bottler. It’s a good start / restart - the whisky is fresh and bright, with good mouthfeel and lots of fruit and cereal notes. There is also a nice herbal undertone, creating good complexity.

Verdict:

I like this a lot.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, thickens, mouth coating, smooth.
Tasting: Sweet sour. Lemons, malty beer, wet stones, orange peel, chillies, cream, raisins, hints of yoghurt.
Finish: Medium. Lemons, raisins, wet stones, malty beer.

Comments:

Sweet salty at first, then loses the briney taste and becomes more tart upon sitting for a little while. Retains a chalky, flinty feel throughout, which disappears once water is added (shame!). Pleasant drinking, needs no water despite the high strength.

Verdict:

I like this.

Tasting: Sweet sour. White grapes, raisins, grass, jasmine, elderflower, butter, hints of peaches, hints of black tea. With water, sweeter, vanilla, butterscotch, sponge cake.
Finish: Long. Peaches, white grapes, jasmine, chillies.

Comments:

Fragrant and delightful, relaxing and fun to drink. I drank this whisky while feeling slightly stressed out and down, but cheered up quickly! Fruity and delicate, yet complex.

Verdict:

I like this.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, static, slightly astringent.
Tasting: Sweet sour. Cookie dough, marzipan, cotton candy, caramel, vanilla, limes, hints of raisins. Turns sweeter with water, plums, lemons sweets and honey appear.
Finish: Long. Limes, marzipan, plums, salt caramel.

Comments:

Sweet, tangy, and strangely uplifting. Reminds me of walking around a spring fairground, munching on cotton candy and toffee apples.

Verdict:

I like this.

Mouthfeel: Light body, warm, volatile, static.
Tasting: Sweet salty. Raisins, butter, cinnamon, white grapes, lemons, hints of roast chicken .
Finish: Medium. Sour cream, lemons, roast chicken.

Comments:

Very meaty and savoury, surprisingly so. Reminds me of my mother's roast chicken and potato stuffing. Some fruit lurking around, but it's hidden under wafts of roast chicken and accompanying savoury condiments.

Verdict:

I like this a lot.
