Nose: Lemons, pears, magic marker, vanilla, apple juice, leather, hints of peat.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, thickens quickly, hot, volatile.
Tasting: Sweet. Plums, pears, vanilla, bread, caramel, leather, peat, hints of new plastic.
Finish: Medium. Plums, butter, bread.
Comments:
60.5% at 22 years old? This cask must have been in the middle of the pile! Lots of bread and caramel, but not quite buttery enough to be described as "stroopwafel", as it is on the bottle. Pleasant and drinkable, a decent dessert whisky.
Verdict:
I like this.
