The Cheshire Special Release Fireside
Official bottling
Single malt - Cheshire
Dark brown
46% ABV
Dram
Nose: Brown paper, menthol, tarragon, fresh cut grass, raisins, white pepper, hints of turpentine.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, loosens, expands, cool.
Tasting: Bitter sweet. Fresh cut grass, raisins, damson jam, white pepper, menthol, orange peel, hints of roast chicken.
Finish: Long. Roast chicken, white pepper, raisins, menthol, hints of turpentine.
Comments:
Very ‘dirty’, with hydrocarbon notes. There’s mint and raisins and orange peel, but underneath that there’s something chemical and harsh. It’s not too harsh, the balance is reasonably good. An interesting dram.
Verdict:
I like this.
