Lambay Whiskey Small Batch Blended
Official bottling
Blended malt
Golden
40% ABV
Dram
Nose: White sultanas, white pepper, red grapes, fresh baked bread, rye, vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Light body, warm, tingly, slightly astringent.
Tasting: Bitter. White pepper, bitter orange, vanilla sponge, raisins, hints of fried eggs.
Finish: Short. Prunes, rye bread, vanilla, bitter orange.
Comments:
Finished in cognac casks. Peppery, with strong notes of rye bread. There's some sulphurous stuff in here too, perhaps a relic of the finishing cask. A promising whiskey, if the distillery make is of this quality, I can see myself coming back for more.
Verdict:
I like this.
