It's the most diverse, unusual, variable, interesting, delicious beverage on the planet. One could drink two drams a day for the next 50 years and never discover all there is to taste, smell and savour.

Nose: Raisins, white wine, slate, hot rocks, cinamon, hints of chocolate, hints of plums. Mouthfeel: Medium body, turns watery, loose. Tasting: Sour bitter. Citron tart, vanilla, lemons, chinese egg roll, hints of quinine, hints of white wine. Finish: Medium. Spicy, lemons, hints of vanilla. Comments:
The bitter notes make this whisky slightly unpleasant. It's drinkable (lots of drinks are drinkable, and being whisky, this is still better than most), but no more.
In my book, any distilled spirit made using malted grain mash, where you can still taste the grain. That means malt whisky, grain whisky, bourbon and new make spirit, single, blended or vatted.
