Nose: Peaches, shortcrust pastry, vanilla, orange peel, honey, hints of toffee.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, astringent, static, cool.
Tasting: Sweet salty. Peaches, dried apricots, toffee, orange peel, black pepper, nutmeg, black tea, hints of cinnamon.
Finish: Short. Orange peel, peaches, dried apricots, fresh baked bread.
Comments:
A very good cask sample from this New York distillery, which I’ve never encountered before. It’s very fruity and very spicy, with an intense, highly defined character. Very enjoyable, and I’m certainly on the lookout for more from the distillery.
Verdict:
I like this.
