Dram
Nose: Chocolate, orange peel, dust, raisins, winter melons, cinnamon. With water, lemon zest, cucumbers, winter melons, hints of mint.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, thickens, slightly sticky, tingly.
Tasting: Sweet sour. Orange peel, damson jam, raisins, cinnamon, cloves, mint, chocolate, hints of sea salt. With water, damson jam, lemon zest, chocolate, hints of liquorice, hints of smoke.
Finish: Long. Raisins, chocolate, red grapes, mint, sea salt.
Comments:
Oloroso. It’s dusty and old, jammy and fruity. There’s a savoury edge to this, on the tip of the tongue and around the lips, and wreathed through with spices and chocolate. Utterly lovely stuff. It’s not been bottled, and will continue to age in the cask.
Verdict:
I like this a lot.
