Nose: Fresh cut grass, salt caramel, cream, butterscotch, peat, hints of roast pork.
Mouthfeel: Heavy body, thick, rolls off the tongue, static.
Tasting: Sweet salty. Vanilla, fresh cut grass, butterscotch, plums, black tea, peat, hints of salted lemons.
Finish: Medium. Salt caramel, toast, plums, salted lemons.
Comments:
My first Oban in nearly a decade! It's recognisably Oban though - saline, slightly peaty, plenty of sweet and citrus notes. And very pleasant herbal notes, like sitting on a freshly mowed lawn by the seaside.
Verdict:
I like this.
