Dram
Nose: Leather, peat, smoke, peanuts, hints of soy sauce.
Mouthfeel: Light body, loose, watery, airy.
Tasting: Bitter sweet. Lemon zest, peanuts, smoke, peat, soy sauce, apples, hints of plums.
Finish: Medium. Ginseng, peat, apple juice, lemon zest.
Comments:
Batch W17-01. Very young and straightforward. I found this easy to understand, and I pegged it as a young Caol Ila, perhaps slightly under peated. Nice to find out that it's an American malt, of decent quality too.
Verdict:
I like this.
