Single malt - Lowlands
Bronze gold
62% ABV
Dram
Nose: Apple juice, butterscotch, roast chicken, dunnage, white pepper, hints of tyre rubber. With water, apple juice, salt caramel, roast chicken, peat.
Mouthfeel: Heavy body, tingly, hot, mouth coating.
Tasting: Sour sweet. Apple juice, white pepper, butterscotch, malted grains, vanilla, white pepper, autumn leaves, tyre rubber. With water, salt caramel, apple juice, vanilla, tyre rubber.
Finish: Short. Tyre rubber, autumn leaves, malted grains, butterscotch.
Comments:
Lots of apple and some meaty roast chicken notes, but that’s offset with a sulphurous edge. Some water smooths this out, and brings out notes of salt caramel. Impressive dram, given the youth of the distillery.
Verdict:
I like this.
