Dram
Nose: Orange peel, liquorice, cloves, menthol, raisins, nutmeg, roast beef, hints of camphor.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, tingly, hot, oily.
Tasting: Sweet sour. Liquorice, menthol, camphor, orange peel, molasses, roast beef, raisins, damson jam, oak chips.
Finish: Medium. Menthol, raisins, liquorice, raisins, oak chips.
Comments:
A good starting point to this sherried whisky tasting. Not so sweet, and with a meaty backbone, this whisky is enjoyable and herbal. A very different sort of sherry influence to those whiskies of today.
Verdict:
I like this a lot.
