Talisker Storm
Official bottling
Single malt - Islands
Amber gold
45.8% ABV
Dram
Nose: Tyre rubber, yoghurt, leather, heather honey, smoke, hints of yoghurt drink.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, expands, tingly, cool.
Tasting: Bitter sweet. Tyre rubber, charcoal ash, heather honey, smoke, butterscotch, chocolate, hints of pears.
Finish: Medium. Heather honey, charcoal ash, pears, cinnamon.
Comments:
Quite a savoury, sulphurous whisky, with an ashy underlying note. Over that, there’s plenty of sweet stuff but on the finish the smoke dominates. Especially good with oysters.
Verdict:
I like this.
