2007, SMWS
Single malt - Islands

60.6% ABV
Sampler
Nose: Camphor, cardamom, pineapples, oranges, lemons, honey, butter, hints of peat.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, static, oily, smooth.
Tasting: Sour. Honey, camphor, oranges, leather, peat, butter, hints of tobacco leaf.
Finish: Long. Leather, honey, oranges, peat.
Comments:
A very spicy, fruity Highland Park, with an especially strong camphor taste. It's a little hard to drink because of that - I associate camphor with a strong-smelling Chinese herbal remedy my mother swore by for bruises. But since whisky is medicine (according to some old Irish bloke), maybe I should just shut up and chug it.
Verdict:
I like this.
